CWG PhotoForum

Mission Statement.  The CWG PhotoForum, founded in 2019, provides a friendly and supportive environment while bringing together photographers to foster and encourage growth of artistic and creative vision, technical skills and knowledge.

Members. Membership is free and open to anyone, regardless of skill level, with an interest in pursuing the creative art of photography.

Meetings. Meetings will be held every other month on 1stWednesday from 7pm-9pm. Attendance is limited so we do require RSVP’s. Meetings will include guest speakers, photo shares, technical and equipment tips and information, etc., and will be held in the auditorium adjacent to the Camerawork Gallery, 301 N. Graham Street, Portland, OR.  (We’re located in the lower level of Lorrenzen Conference Center, Legacy Medical Center Campus.)  Parking is free; the gallery served by TriMet Routes 4, 24 and 44 and is ADA accessible.

Volunteers. We’re looking for volunteers interested in helping support and develop the CWG PhotoForum. If interested, send an email to info@thecameraworkgallery.org and let us know how you’d like to help.

CWG PhotoForum Events, 2019

Meeting: Wednesday, September 4, 7pm-9pm

Guest Speaker:  Greg Vaughn

Topic: Photography along the Backroads and Byways of Oregon

In his presentation, Greg will share photos and stories from three decades of exploring the wonders of Oregon. He will also talk about his processes and techniques for making photographs, as well as his experiences in stock photography. 

Vaughn is author and photographer of two guidebooks covering the Pacific Northwest USA. Photographing Oregon won the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA)  award, the Ben Franklin Award for best travel book of 2010. Photographing Washington, a photographer’s guide to The Evergreen State, and both the IBPA and NATJA. FarCountry Press recently published a collection of his photos of his home state titled Oregon: A Photographic Journey.

Vaughn is a thirty year resident of Eugene, Oregon, where he lives with his family. He has enjoyed working in several types of commercial and editorial freelance photography during his career, and now concentrates on producing travel and nature stock photography and conducting photography workshops.
